国防科技大学图书馆简介

      国防科技大学图书馆创建于1953年，前身为哈尔滨军事工程学院图书馆，1970年随学校主体南迁长沙，1999年原长沙炮兵学院、长沙工程兵学院、长沙政治学院并入国防科技大学后，三个学院的图书馆也先后并入国防科技大学图书馆。目前图书馆有三座馆舍，分别坐落在一、三、四号院区，建筑总面积47000多平方米，阅览座位4300多个，每周开放90小时。

      哈军工时期图书馆：国防科技大学图书馆最初是由第二高级步兵学校及华东军区军事科学研究室所属的图书馆合并组建的。1953年为哈尔滨军事工程学院建院时，学院图书馆即同步组建开馆。

      长沙工学院时期图书馆：1970年随学院南迁长沙后，改名为长沙工学院图书馆。

      一号院老馆：1978年改名为国防科技大学图书馆后，根据国防科工委副主任钱学森同志的指示，于1982年建成了面积为11000平方米的图书馆大楼并正式投入使用。

      一号院中心馆：一号院中心馆大楼于2007年5月投入使用，建筑面积14715平方米。

      三号院分馆老馆：三号院分馆于2003年10月启用,建筑面积13000平方米。

      三号院分馆新馆：随着学校创建我军特色世界一流大学进程的不断推进，三号院原有馆舍已不能满足读者对文献资源日益增长的需求，参照总部新的图书馆评价标准要求，于2014年9月建成了27000平方米的信息化图书馆并投入使用。

      四号院分馆：国防科技大学图书馆紧密围绕学校教学科研、学科建设需求和读者阅读需求，建立了以理工类重点学科为核心，多学科协调发展，数字化资源为主、印刷型资源为辅、相互协调发展的文献资源体系。现有印刷型文献370余万册（件），每年订购中外文现刊3500余种。建成了包括95个大型综合数据库，151个专题数据库或子库的数字图书馆。

      国防科技大学图书馆坚持“以人为本，读者第一”的服务宗旨，采用“藏、借、阅、查、咨”一体的现代化管理模式，实现了跨院区的统一管理、统一编目、统一检索和通借通还，并为我校异地校区提供文献资源开放共享服务。在做好基础服务的同时，借助现代技术，拓宽服务渠道，创新服务模式，积极开展用户培训、参考咨询、学科服务、馆际互借、文献传递、定题服务、信息推送等深层次服务。

      NUDT Library was originally set up in Harbin in 1953. Its predecessor, known as Library of PLA Military Engineering Institute (MEI), was moved southwards to Changsha together with the main body of the institute in 1970. In 1999, as Changsha Institute of Artillery, Changsha Institute of Engineering Corps and Changsha Institute of Political Science were incorporated into NUDT, the libraries of the three institutes were also merged into NUDT Library. At present, the Library comprises three branches which lie on Campus 1, 3 and 4 respectively, covering a total area of over 47,000 m2 with more than 4,300 seats opening 90 hours a week.

NUDT Library focuses on the needs of university teaching and research,discipline construction and reader demand.We established a document resources system based on key discipline of science technology as the core,with coordination of multidisciplinary,and developing digital resources as priority,with printed resources as complementary.The Library now has over 3,700,000 printed documents (copies), She subscribes to more than 3500 journals and periodicals from home and abroad each year. The established digital library, constituted of 95 large comprehensive databases and 151 special databases or sub-databases.

By following the service philosophy of “Human Oriented, Readers First”, NUDT Library has introduced a modern management mode integrating “book reserving, loaning, reading, searching and consulting” and brought about unified management, catalog-making, retrieval and inter-branch loaning and returning. And provide literature resources for different area in our school open shared services. While doing well in the basic services, the Library extends service channels, innovates service models and actively provides user with training, reference and advisory service, sci-tech novelty search, subject service,inter-library loaning and returning, literature delivery, selective dissemination of information, information pushing and other in-depth services with modern technology.
